Mom Talk

I called my pediatrician’s office in early October and made my daughter’s four year check up appointment for tomorrow, November 14^th. When I scheduled the appointment, I asked them if she would be getting any shots (I like to prepare her) and they told me at least the flu shot, if we wanted it. I told them we definitely wanted it and I would see them at the appointment. A few days ago, my sister (who uses the same doctor) was told that they are out of the flu shot and won’t be getting any more in so when they called today to confirm our appointment for tomorrow, I asked if they saved a flu shot for my daughter because I specifically requested one. They did not. I am pretty frustrated right now because she will not get the flu shot this year. They said something about sending us to a clinic to see if they had any but with my schedule and my nervousness about additives, etc. in the vaccine, I’m pretty leery about getting the shot from a non-pediatric source. We’ll see what the doctor says about my concerns tomorrow.
