Voting
It took me an hour to vote today and I’m wondering what the average wait time was for everyone else. We went after lunch at around 1:15 p.m. and the line was down the sidewalk. I live in a relatively small precinct and I’ve never really had to wait more than 10 minutes before so I was a bit surprised. There was quite a turnout this year. My daughter was with me so I explained to her what voting is and why we do it. I used the touch screen stall and she wanted to know if it was a game. She must have made the election “official” nervous because the lady told her not to touch anything and tried to tweak her cheek. My daughter looked up at her like, “Don’t touch me, lady.” and I assured her that she wouldn’t touch anything. Interestingly enough, the touch screen didn’t have a wait but the paper stalls did. I guess some folks were nervous about the technology involved.
